How do you know what to build?
A spreadsheet is rarely the whole process. Part of it sits with the person who has been running it, and that part is not written down. The diagnostic is where we draw out what the first version has to do: what someone needs to see, what counts as done, and what has to be connected. You see that as a short workflow before anything is built, and the fee covers that agreed version. If using it shows a step that neither of us could see beforehand, we look at it together and decide whether it belongs in a next piece of work. It is not added in silence, and it is not treated as a mistake in the first build.
